Time and MoneyThey say time is money.Time and Moneyin Literature
More Like This
If that's true, then most people are born rich,
And everybody dies poor.
If time is money, then we all have holes in our pockets.
Some spend wisely, others foolishly.
Some spend on their families,
Some on their work,
Some on stamp collections.
Others get robbed.
But we all spend,
And if we're spending, we must be buying something.
The mystery is what.
What is for sale that our time can buy?
Happiness? Love? Peace of mind, perhaps?
If time is money,
Then these are the most expensive things.
They require great investments
And only a lucky few can afford them.
Or are wise enough to know they ought to buy them.
In some ways, I suppose time is like money.
But as much as I would like the metaphor to work
It does not.
Time is not money.
Money is renewable.
We work our jobs to earn money
We get money in our Christmas cards
We pick up pennies on the sidewalk
Time is not like that.
